Dr. Olurinde Lafe, a distinguished professor of engineering, inventor, practitioner-scholar, and esteemed scientist, is the visionary founder of FCG. With a prolific research career, Dr. Lafe holds over 40 issued and pending patents across diverse domains, including computing, process modeling, cybersecurity, and clean energy systems. His groundbreaking inventions have left a global impact, finding applications in telecommunications and commercial products worldwide. Educationally, Dr. Lafe earned a BSc in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, a DHE in Computational Hydraulics from the Delft International Institute of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering, and both an MS and PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell University. His illustrious career in academia has seen him hold senior positions in renowned institutions such as the University of Lagos, the University of Nairobi, the University of Dar-es-Salaam, the University of Delaware, Case Western Reserve University, African University of Science and Technology, and the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Notably, Dr. Lafe directed the Center for Renewable Energy Technology (CRET) at FUTA, where he spearheaded the design and construction of CRET's pioneering Net-Zero-Energy Building. Dr. Lafe's expertise extends beyond academia, as he has served as a consultant and collaborator for numerous international agencies, including the United States Office of Naval Research - Strategic Defense Initiative Program, NASA, NSF, USDA, USAID, UNESCO, World Vision International, DARPA, ECOWAS Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE), and GIZ. His notable contributions include the development of special multi-megawatt pulse battery technologies for space weapons in collaboration with the "Star Wars" Project. Dr. Lafe's multidisciplinary contributions underscore his commitment to advancing technology for the betterment of society, making him a respected figure in the global engineering and scientific community.
